Situated only a stone’s throw from the centre of York (adjacent to the Museum Gardens and River Ouse), we pride ourselves on offering visitors a warm welcome, finest quality food, a choice of real ales/wines and superbly appointed recently refurbished luxury accommodation.All of our food is freshly prepared and cooked on the premises by our team. Food ranges from delicious traditional pub classics such as home made game pie through to exotic fish main courses plus many more. The Bay Horse has always been recognised for the high quality and range of cask ales which are changed on a regular basis. As well as a choice of cask marque accredited ales, we also have an extensive wine list packed with choice. We have four boutique guest rooms appointed to the highest standard all with en-suite facilities, private access and superb views. Room prices range from £95 to £120 per room including a full English breakfast and local parking. At the Bay Horse, we have a large upstairs function room available for private hire. This can be used for private dining (with a capacity of up to 60 diners), parties, celebrations and corporate meetings and can be set-up to suit your requirements. The Bay Horse is situated in a quiet location adjacent to the Museum Gardens, fa ew paces from the River Ouse Marygate landing and 10 minutes walk from the railway station.

There’s ample pay and display parking to the rear and short term parking to the front.

York Barbican

The York Barbican is managed by SMG (UK) Ltd. SMG is one of the world’s largest international venue operators. The York Barbican is the latest addition to SMG’s expanding UK theatres division, which also includes The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, the Journal Tyne Theatre in Newcastle and Whitley Bay Playhouse, with Scunthorpe’s Plowright Theatre and Baths Hall to follow later in 2011. York Barbican is owned by City of York Council and is due to re-open after a major £2m investment. This includes a £1.5m refurbishment of the much-loved venue enhanced with a dedicated restaurant, meeting rooms and improved public and back of house spaces. Please follow the link for updates on the re-opening. The Barbican will offer a diverse programme of events taking advantage of the venue’s 1500 seated and 1900 standing capacities. The opening season will include comedy, a range of music events, snooker, family shows and community events. The annual Festival of Remembrance and the Lord Mayor’s Carol Concert will return to the Barbican as a regular part of the programme, as will the Guildhall Orchestra. In addition to its role as an entertainment venue, the Barbican will be an important addition to York’s business tourism offer, hosting a range of events from large conferences to smaller meetings and private events. SMG is already working with Visit York and the hotel sector to attract conferences to York, increasing further the positive economic impact that the re-opened Barbican will generate in the city. SMG is working with partners Arup and Fuse Design on the redevelopment, and construction work started on site in mid February. Once completed the Barbican will employ the full time equivalent of over 60 staff.

Giftag Chocolate Box

Giftag Chocolate Box, created by Jane and Graham Golisti. The Yorkshire couple are passionate about their handmade artisan fudge, fine chocolate and sourcing unique high quality gifts from around the world.

Graham has created White Horse Fudge named after the White Horse at Sutton Bank near Thirsk to mark where the shops began. White Horse signature fudges are Strawberry and Cream, Rasperry Ripple and Amaretto to name only three of the wide range.

“A girl can never have too many shoes.” These unique creations are made deep in the Yorkshire Dales by expert chocolatiers. As they are entirely handmade no two shoes are ever the same. The hardest decision is which one you want!
