Welcome to the site!
SeeYork.co.uk was registered back in March 2008, and first officially launched in July 2009 offering news and information specifically for tourists thinking of visiting our beautiful and historic city. At the end of March 2011 we took the original SeeYork website offline after making a simple decision to make the site available not only for attracting tourism, but also to act as a resource for local residents. And so we set about putting together new designs, features, interactive elements, and so on.
One thing we wanted to keep the same was the cost. To access and use the site it is completely free of charge. Some sites require you to purchase membership, or to make donations to access full content etc. We on the other hand prefer to offer everything completely free of charge. We do this because we love our city, and we want everyone to enjoy what the City of York has to offer.
What can I find on SeeYork?
We aspire to be the biggest and best website dedicated to the City of York, and the best thing about it is that listings are uploaded by users! You can also comment on and rate all of the listings on the site so that other users can benefit. In short, SeeYork is a site for the people by the people.
The site includes news, information and other features such as media and downloads. Examples of content that you can find on the site includes local attractions, shopping, entertainment, accommodation, dinning, special offers, events and more.
